Bali in 3D

3D is creating new waves. Many Hollywood and Blockbuster movies are marching toward the 3D era, and so do many destinations to promote their tourism industry. This new wave is of course in line with the development of technology, getting much easier and user-friendly. Technology used in the tourism industry is shifting, from simple booking to live booking, from internet to mobile application, from PC to iPad, and now from ordinary web reviews and photos... to web 3D application.

Not only receiving attention of the tech-savvy generation travelers, Bali is also the chosen destination for entrepreneurs who are synchronizing their needs for travel in the Net era by hooking up online for every travel requirements. Thus it is essential for Bali Village, as the promotional arm of Bali Tourism Board, to take the destination forward.

Bali Village launches a web application named 'bali-scape' in World Travel Market 2010 in London, the second largest travel show in the world. The brainchild of the team at Tribes Studios, this easy-to-use web application serves as a 3D modeling of Bali. When a web-visitor travel to ‘bali-scape’ he will be able to see Bali’s Point Of Interests, and also view the numerous activity choices available on the island because within the ‘bali-scape’ there is a business-to-business application for private sectors to showcase their business and properties to entice visitors. Just like a reality tour, the visitor is given the control of the visit, traveling along the streets of Bali, stopping by the beach and looking out at where are the spots for dining, all the way to touring a famous temple or a mapping of the airport for his departure ease.
“The more I visit ‘bali-scape’, the more rest-assured I feel about my entire trip,” said a would-be-tourist to Bali. He continued enthusiastically, “I don’t think it replaces the real visit, and in fact, ‘bali-scape’ helps me to better plan my trip, this is amazing.”

‘bali-scape’ will be available from www.balivillage.com
